There is no doubt that the Dyson 360 Eye is the most efficient vacuuming robot currently available. It is the result of all that research and testing and it is finally on sale in the U.S.A. It features a full-width brush bar that picks up considerably more dirt than other models and its vision system is much more efficient than other bump-sensing models that map a room by bumping into objects. More than that, it’s important to know that the device recently got a software update. As such, it now features a battery gauge which is a handy cosmetic addition. At $999,99 the 360 Eye robot vacuum makes a great deal and can fulfill the needs of those who are looking for a quality device.

Technical specification

In addition to its digital V2 motor that spins at up to 78.000 revolutions per minute, the way that this unit sees rooms has a big impact on its ability to clean. The device features a 360-degree standard-definition camera that is placed on the top of the robot to interpret its surroundings. Due to the fact that it follows a square spiral pattern in 5m squares, the robot operates until it is obstructed and then proceeds to fill in the square before moving to another place. It runs for 45 minutes continuously and it returns to its base station to charge and continue to clean the remaining rooms when it’s ready. Moreover, if you are thinking about purchasing this unit, it’s important to know that it has a 0.33-liter bin which is a bit small, compared to other devices, including the Roomba 980’s 0.6-liter bin and the Neato Botvac Connected’s 0.7-liter bin.

FeaturesS

This model is one of Dyson’s first line of connected products, featuring settings and controls that have been offloaded to the Dyson Link app for iOS devices and Android. You can set it using the button on the top, but to schedule cleaning times, you need the app. It’s important to know that the app can control and monitor the vacuum from anywhere, not just in the home. Furthermore, it shows you a map of where the device has been, so you can know how much it has covered the available floor space. Additionally, this product uses the Radial Root cyclone technology which separates dirt and dust, in order to make sure what is sucked up is kept in the bin. Also, it’s good to know that its filter is located in front of the robot underneath a flimsy-feeling silver of plastic. It is extremely easy to remove, but a bit complicated to get back on.

Performance

When it comes to sucking stuff up, the 360 Eye model is the best robot on the market. It ran through various series of tests on a thinner Berber carpet, hardwood floors and even plush mid-pile carpet. On each surface, it was able to pick up 1.25 ounces of sand, 2.5 ounces of rice and 0.2 ounces of pet hair. Due to the fact that it has twice the suction power of any other device, it can also clean heavy spillages, including coffee granules. Another interesting thing about this device is the fact that it has caterpillar tracks, instead of wheels, which help it get over small humps, including small lips to doors and thick rugs. As mentioned before, it features a vision system which prevents it from crashing into large things and walls.

Maintenance and ease of use

While the device will operate and keep itself charged, there is also a bit of maintenance required. Therefore, once a month you need to wash the filters which are quite easy to remove and let them dry for 24 hours. Keep in mind that both, the washable filter and dust bin are hygienic and economical. The bin is incredibly easy to open and empty. You just have to press the release button on top, pull it out and shake it onto the bin.

Design and accessories

This robot vacuum cleaner has a smaller footprint than most other robot vacuums on the market. However, the fact that it is taller than other models allows for a more powerful motor, giving better suction. It measures 23 cm in diameter and it is 12 cm tall, which makes it 3 cm taller than the iRomba 900 series. The dock of this device is a simple white stand with chrome strips onto which the unit returns to charge. Also, it has two black and white checkered squares that help it see the dock and return to it when it needs a top up. The excess cable can be stored in the power adapter, keeping it from getting sucked up by the robot. If you turn the vacuum over, you will also notice that it has two sets of bristles, such as nylon for carpets and carbon fiber for hardwood floors.

Warranty

The 360 Eye cleaner features a 2-year warranty and provides a 30-day money back warranty. Furthermore, if you need more detailed information or you have any question, you can contact the customer service department.

Final thoughts

If you are interested in buying an efficient vacuum cleaner that provides a lot of benefits, the 360 Eye is exactly what you are looking for. It is equipped with a powerful digital V2 motor and a360 degree standard definition camera to interpret its surroundings. Thanks to its Radial Root cyclone technology which separates dirt and dust, this robot is much better than its predecessor. The filter and the dust bin of the device are economical and hygienic. Plus, they are easy to remove and clean. All in all, this is an amazing device, very efficient and easy to use.

How well does it pick pet hair? I have two dogs and I need a robot vacuum cleaner which can help me get rid of this problem.

Despite the fact that its bin is very small it does a great job on pet hair.

Can it clean multiple rooms or do I have to pick it up and manually move it into another room?

Yes, Elaine, the robot can clean multiple rooms without having to move it manually. However, if you don’t want it to clean a certain room, you can simply close the door.

In case the robot encounters an obstacle, can it detect it or it bumps into it?

Hi, Luis. Due to the fact that the robot has sensors, when it encounters an obstacle it simply avoids it. The sensors are a great addition as they protect the robot and the objects it may bump into.
